Hello everybody its Tuesday the 5th of July 2011 and a few members of the team are feeling a little tired today after a very late night last night. They were catering a very special event in a city centre location not too far from head office. The client was a large insurance company whom we have catered many events for in the past. They use the Hog Roast Caterer catering services for a number of their corporate events including networking evenings, business lunches and their annual Christmas celebrations. Yesterdays event was very different from anything they had requested before. As the company originates from the USA many of the employees working in our local office are from across the pond, either here on a long term contract or just visiting to work on a specific project. For this reason It was decided by the company’s events committee that all staff in the local branch were to be treated to an extra special 4th of July- Independence Day style celebration. This helped those working in the UK stay true to their roots and celebrate their important national day and it also gave them a chance to teach the rest about why the 4th of July was so important to them. The party had a fancy dress theme and a fire work display and we were the catering team who provided a tasty USA style BBQ. We adapted our usual bbq catering options slightly to produce an authentic American feast! We served up Giant Beef burgers with bacon and melted American cheese, the traditional US corn dogs and southern style ribs. The food was a great success with the whole work force and it wasn’t long before they had eaten every last scrap! The event was so successful and enjoyable it is going to be celebrated in that particular office every year and the have already booked us to provide bbq catering at the next one 🙂
